21 June 5:30-10:30PM global internet blackout from limited locations in AU was caused by the issue with Vocus netwrok cable's physical damage.

RedyHost network (via two redundant links - Optus and Pipe Internet/Nextgen) was not accessible from limited number of locations (limited networks within Telstra internet, iiNet, Optus and Dodo internet) today from 5:30PM until 10:30PM.

We tried switching out network links between the two providers with not much success, as the issue was caused by an independant networks supplier located beyond out network suppliers.

The problem was caused by physical cable cable damage in Vocus network provider (RedyHost network is totally independant on Vocus, but many netwrok providers send their traffic through the Vocus network), thus many certain locations around Australia were not able to access RedyHost network and networks of other hosting providres in Australia.

None of RedyHost's network and none of our direct upstream providers (Optus and Pipe Internet/Nextgen) were affected during this time period. RedyHost access logs retain full access stats during this time period to confirm that our web and email services were accessible during this time period.

RedyHost support enginners were engaged from 5:30PM until 10:30PM to identify and to help rectifying this problem, working direclty with our upstream providers.

As on 10:30PM we confirm that the issue has been rectified.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

RedyHost Support.
